Built by a Dad, Inspired by Leen
Hi, I am Mahmoud (melta.meltaworks.com), and my two-year-old daughter, Leen, inspired me to build CardTone.
I wanted a safe way to keep her happily entertained at home during winter while I got things done. Most options I tried gave more stress than benefit.
When she borrowed my phone for kids content, she could exit apps, tap random settings, and even called emergency once. The endless scrolling behavior became the main interaction she wanted.
So I built a simpler experience: tap a physical card on the phone and carefully selected content appears instantly. The app runs fullscreen and is designed so kids cannot accidentally exit.
From the CardTone app in parent mode, I can manage her device remotely: set bedtime rules, session timers, and block access when needed.
For families who prefer reusing older hardware, I am also building a desktop version with USB/Bluetooth NFC reader support, so an old phone or laptop can become a safe kid station.
